Project Manager Power Generation
A well-established and growing power solutions business is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver generator and distributed power projects across the UK. This role would suit a Project Manager with a background in generator installations, power generation, CHP, or electrical infrastructure, particularly those with strong electrical knowledge.
The position involves managing projects from order handover through to commissioning and handover, working closely with engineering, supply chain, subcontractors, and customers to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery of generator-based power solutions.
Responsibilities: Manage generator and power generation projects from contract award to final handover
Take ownership of project planning, scheduling, budgets, and risk management
Coordinate internal teams including engineering, service, and commercial functions
Manage external subcontractors, suppliers, and site activities
Act as the main point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle
Oversee electrical and mechanical installation activities, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulations
Ensure projects are delivered in line with health & safety standards, including RAMS and site compliance
Track project progress, produce regular updates, and manage change control where required
Support commissioning, testing, and final documentation handover
Represent the business professionally on customer sites and in meetings
Requirements: Proven experience as a Project Manager within generators, power generation, CHP, or electrical infrastructure
Strong electrical bias, with a good understanding of LV/HV systems, controls, and power distribution
Experience managing multi-disciplinary projects involving mechanical and electrical scopes
Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Confident working independently while collaborating closely with internal teams
Professional, customer-focused approach with strong communication skills
Willingness to travel to customer sites and attend meetings as required
