Up to £53,200 (FTE) DOE plus £3000 Welcome Bonus (Welcome Bonus is payable as one payment of £1,500 after completion of one month and one further payment of £1,500 upon completion of your final probation period. T & C apply)
Hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30 am - 4:30 pm
Contract
Permanent 52 weeks (or flexibility around a Term‑Time contract can be discussed based on your personal circumstances)
Responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs.
* Work within the standards provided in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working and in accordance with governing and professional bodies.
* Hold a Speech and Language Therapy caseload with support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
* Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
* Collaborate with the education team and other professionals to promote person‑centred, empowering practice.
* Maintain a strong safeguarding culture and ensure pupils are heard, respected, and involved in decisions that affect them.
Essential Criteria
* Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* HCPC registered
* Experience engaging and working with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles
* Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice
* Experience of multidisciplinary working in various settings
* Experience communicating with families, relatives and carers
* Interest in developing knowledge and skills across different areas of SaLT practice
* Good relationship‑building, analytical and judgemental skills
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Good time‑management and organisational skills
* Competence in core areas of SaLT practice and clear understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
* Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools, intervention types and support‑plan formulation
* Knowledge of legislation relevant to clinical practice and professional management for the client group
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team
* Willingness to attend training and work towards further qualifications relevant to the client group
* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable
* Understanding of sensory and motor differences that may impact communication strengths, differences, traits, difficulties and needs
* Evidence of understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication
