Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: East Midlands (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days remote)
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full Time – Permanent
Work Structure: Hybrid (3 office / 2 remote)
The Role
As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll play a key part in delivering accurate and compliant payroll services for colleagues across the UK. Working within a supportive and knowledgeable team, you will ensure payroll is processed on time and in line with company policies and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* End-to-end processing of monthly payroll for high volume employees.
* Ensuring compliance with statutory and internal payroll regulations.
* Supporting employees with payroll queries via phone and email within agreed service levels.
* Managing starters, leavers, salary changes, and data updates.
* Administering statutory payments, deductions, and payroll taxes.
* Preparing and submitting electronic payments (BACS) to employees, HMRC, and third parties.
* Completing monthly and annual payroll reporting, reconciliations, and submissions.
* Supporting payroll year-end and start-of-year processes, including system testing.
* Managing payrolled benefits and ensuring accurate taxation.
* Keeping up to date with changes in payroll legislation and best practice.
About You
Essential Skills & Experience:
* CIPP qualification or equivalent professional experience.
* Strong understanding of UK payroll processes and legislation.
* Experience managing end-to-end payroll for a large workforce.
* High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
* Proficient in maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines in a high-volume environment.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Desirable:
* Working knowledge of Zellis / ResourceLink payroll software.
