What are we looking for?
Essential Requirements
* Experience of developing and/or leading a multi-professional network dedicated to knowledge sharing and improving applied professional practice.
* Demonstrated experience in managing and leading teams.
* Strong understanding of the application of behavioural or social science to any of the following: public and population health, clinical care, sustainability, education, social care, public sector policy and/or service delivery.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities, with a proven ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a senior leadership team and with external partners.
* Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and a commitment to building inclusive communities.
* Experience overseeing or directly managing online community platforms and web-based tools.
* Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of the BSPHN.
* Relevant Post-Graduate Degree or equivalent professional experience in any of the following: Behavioural Science, Medicine or Professions Allied to Medicine, Public Health, Social Science, Public Administration, Social Care, or a related field.
Desirable Requirements
* Experience working on projects or initiatives within the UK health, social care, sustainability or education sectors, or policy landscape.
* Experience in budget management and financial oversight.
* Experience in commercial role focused on delivering value to paying customers.
* An established network of contacts within the UK behavioural or social science, public health, medical or Professions Allied to Medicine, education, social care or policy communities.
* Experience in advocating or delivering policy or service reform, particularly leveraging behavioural/social science insights.
* Experience supporting capacity building initiatives related to behavioural science.
What will you be doing?
We are seeking an exceptional and dynamic Community of Practice Director to develop and lead the BSPHN's Community of Practice (CoP), a network of diverse professionals committed to applying behavioural and social science to improve public health and public sector service delivery. This pivotal role involves providing overall strategic vision, direction, and leadership for the CoP, ensuring it aligns with the BSPHN's mission. The Director will be responsible for growing the network, managing a team of Community of Practice Managers, overseeing the CoP's operations, and supporting knowledge sharing and engagement activities hosted on an online (web and app-enabled) platform. The Director will work collaboratively with the BSPHN senior leadership team to ensure the CoP effectively supports the organisation's strategic pillars and goals.
