Key Account Manager – York & Tyne‑Tees

About the Role
In this role you will manage the highest‑value on‑trade accounts in the York & Tyne‑Tees region, driving growth, profitability and brand equity for a select portfolio of premium spirits.
Key Accountabilities
* P&L responsibility for the portfolio’s on‑trade customers, delivering accelerated growth and sustainable profit.
* Lead commercial performance, negotiating, persuading and resolving conflicts to maximise outcomes.
* Maintain day‑to‑day relationships, forecasting accurately and connecting with RTM and supply teams to preserve brand visibility.
* Collaborate with activation specialists to coordinate brand plans and on‑menu creation across the customer base.
* Drive on‑trade distribution agenda, paired with ROS‑driving tools to meet annual financial and market‑share targets.
* Work closely with brand ambassadors, customer marketing and category teams to deliver customer needs and commercial goals.
* Navigate ROI decisions in alignment with key priorities, unlocking commercial & brand‑building growth through insight into customer strategy and consumer behaviour.
* Deliver exceptional results for Diageo by sustaining a commitment to outcomes through effective cross‑functional collaboration and balanced external stakeholder engagement.
Ideal Experience / Qualifications / Capabilities
* On‑trade or account management experience within retail or FMCG sectors.
* Strong knowledge of on‑trade categories, trends and spirits.
* Passion for premium brands, advanced negotiation skills, P&L literacy and numerical analysis.
* Excellent cross‑functional relationship building and senior stakeholder engagement.
* Entrepreneurial mindset for growing and nurturing the customer base.
Candidate Requirements
Candidates must have the right to work in the UK, be over 21 years old, hold a full clean driving licence and have at least one year of driving experience.
