Risk & Change Governance Manager
Location: Bristol
Security Clearance: SC eligible (must have the right to work in the UK)
About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Risk & Change Governance Manager to join our PMO team in Bristol. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the development and embedding of integrated risk and change governance frameworks across the enterprise.
You’ll act as a central point of coordination between business units, ensuring risks and change initiatives are identified, managed, and aligned with business objectives. What You’ll Be Doing:
* Lead and embed risk and change management frameworks across all business units
* Support the identification, assessment, and monitoring of programme and operational risks
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and functional teams to proactively manage risks and change
* Chair and facilitate Change Control Boards (CCBs) across business units
* Maintain risk registers, change logs, and assurance documentation in line with JSP and ISO standards
* Highlight issues to key stakeholders that could impact successful delivery
* Manage and maintain the Enterprise Risk Register
* Oversee and administer the company’s risk management system, including upgrades and enhancements
* Provide risk and change governance expertise to the PMO and wider business
* Support audits, reviews, and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience developing and implementing risk management processes at programme or enterprise level
* Experience managing risk maturity assessments on large-scale or company-wide projects
* Strong knowledge of risk categorisation (strategic, operational, financial, compliance, reputational)
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills – able to chair boards and influence decisions
* Confident working across complex, multi-disciplinary environments
* Eligible for SC Clearance and right to work in the UK
Desirable Qualifications:
* IRM qualification (or equivalent experience)
* Knowledge of MOD governance standards and JSP/ISO frameworks
