We’re looking for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join us in our Birmingham city centre office on Edmund Street and play a key role in shaping and leading our local geotechnical presence. ABOUT THE ROLE
You’ll take on a leading position within our Birmingham team, acting as the focal point for geotechnical expertise locally while being supported by a wider Midlands team of 30+ geotechnical specialists and a national division of around 100.
Working under the leadership of Paul Eastwood, Geo Regional Director for the Midlands, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality geotechnical solutions across a diverse range of projects.
Your role will include
* Leading and delivering ground investigations and geotechnical designs
* Developing robust ground models
* Producing clear, high-quality interpretive reports
* Designing geotechnical structures including foundations, earthworks, slopes, retaining structures and ground improvement solutions
* Acting as a technical leader and growing the geotechnical capability within the Birmingham team

ABOUT YOU
You’re an experienced geotechnical engineer with strong UK consultancy experience and a passion for delivering high-quality work.
You’ll bring:
* Proven experience scoping and delivering geotechnical investigations and designs
* Strong ground modelling and interpretive reporting skills
* Experience designing a range of geotechnical structures
* Confidence working independently and leading technical delivery
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* A degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (BEng, BSc or higher)
* Chartered status with a relevant professional body
