Due to growth at our propulsion centre of excellence at Harwell, UK, we seek an experienced Electric Propulsion Systems Engineer with a minimum of 5 years in space propulsion systems. The role is based at our TAS UK Harwell office.
Primary Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to the Propulsion Systems Engineering Manager, the Systems Engineer will support various projects and team members, focusing on propulsion subsystem activities during all project phases, interfacing with customers, suppliers, and internal teams, and supporting subsystem design, testing, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support propulsion subsystem and equipment activities during satellite project phases.
* Lead technical interface for propulsion subsystem, including procurement and integration.
* Interpret and establish system requirements and technical documentation.
* Support trade-off analyses, design justification, and reviews.
* Develop and oversee integration and test plans, including analysis using tools like EcosimPro, MATLAB, and Python.
* Manage anomalies and non-conformances, providing technical reports and status updates.
* Contribute to future propulsion development and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Degree in Space Engineering, Physics, or related field.
* Significant experience in space propulsion systems, preferably electric thrusters like GIE or HAT.
* Understanding of PPU design and operation is desirable.
