Hours of Work: 9:30am – 2:30pm, Monday to Thursday throughout August
Contract: Sessional
Salary: £13:50 per hour

We’re delighted to share that Fresh Futures has been successful in securing funding to deliver a brand-new ‘Schools Out | Summer Club’ this August, specifically designed for children aged 11–13.
There are multiple job opportunities for seasonal work to support the development and delivery of a dynamic and engaging programme during the school holidays.
The programme will run Monday to Thursday for four weeks in August. However, there is flexibility to work for one week or select multiple weeks based on your availability and preference.
The Charity
Established over 50 years ago, Fresh Futures is a regional charity dedicated to supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable children, young people and their families. Our vision is for allchildren, young people and their familiesto have opportunities for a better life, now and in the future.
Purpose of the job
To lead and support activities for young people aged 11–13 as part of our Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme.
The role involves planning and delivering a variety of engaging sessions including sports, crafts, and cooking – both onsite and offsite – to ensure young people have fun, stay active, and develop new skills during the school holidays.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in youth work, teaching, or activity leadership, who is passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives.
Main activities
* Deliver a range of age-appropriate activities, including physical activity, creative arts, and cooking sessions.
* Supervise and engage positively with young people, promoting inclusion, participation, and wellbeing.
* Ensure all activities are delivered safely and in line with safeguarding and health and safety policies.
* Support the organisation and coordination of offsite activities.
* Prepare and deliver healthy meals/snacks as part of the programme offer.
* Build positive relationships with young people, parents/carers, and colleagues to create a supportive and welcoming environment.
* Monitor attendance and contribute to reporting and evaluation of the programme.
* Identify and raise safeguarding concerns with Fresh Futures safeguarding team, following organisational procedures.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment at all times.
Knowledge, training and experience required
* Experience working with young people aged 11–13 in a youth work, education or community setting.
* Confident in delivering structured group activities, including sports, crafts and/or cooking.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A broad understanding of safeguarding principles and commitment to keeping children and young people safe.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work on different sites and adapt plans as needed.
* Hold a valid enhanced DBS certificate
* Hold a valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to undertake training
* Safeguarding training or be willing to undertake training
