My client is seeking a talented, driven Assistant Flood Risk Consultant, willing to take on challenging projects alongside a team of expert design engineers and technicians, covering a range of projects near the conveniently-located, family-friendly town of Bridgend, and across the surrounding region.

Responsibilities for the role of Assistant Flood Risk Consultant include:
7. Conducting flood risk surveys for planning, mitigation of properties, and assessments
8. Undertaking site-specific flood risk analysis in relation to climate change
9. Preparing flood risk and consequence assessments, flood management plans, and drainage strategies
10. Preparing and submitting SAB applications to the relevant local authorities
11. Using GIS software programmes to analyse and interpret flood risk data
12. Helping maintain the in-house flood risk database
13. Providing support to other colleagues across a wide range of tasks
14. Participating in team meetings and site visits, as and when required
Required skills and experience for the role of Assistant Flood Risk Consultant include:
15. A Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Geography, Environmental Science or Civil Engineering (or similar, relevant discipline)
16. Demonstrable experience of authoring flood risk and flood consequence assessments
17. Experience of producing flood mitigation reports and/or preparing and submitting SAB applications
18. Excellent working knowledge of GIS software and its uses in data analysis
19. Possess a full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Assistant Flood Risk Consultant include:
20. Possess a good knowledge of the local region and its characteristics
21. Be willing to travel to a wide variety of sites, as and when required
