As a team, Zone 5-19 is excited to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated and innovative experienced Contraception and Sexual Health Nurse to join our successful Young People's Health And Wellbeing Service.
The duties of this post include providing evidence-based specialist sexual health care through one-to-one interventions, supporting young people on issues related to their sexual and reproductive health, risk behaviors, wellbeing, and related topics. This may involve utilizing skills such as motivational interviewing.
The successful candidate will actively promote positive sexual health advice through health education in the community, including schools and outreach sessions.
There will be a requirement to work some unsocial hours, including Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities:
* Work within contraception and sexual health clinics offering advice and treatments to the public requesting contraception and sexual healthcare.
* Act responsibly, being courteous at all times with sensitivity towards patients' needs, respecting their dignity and privacy.
* Communicate, counsel, and empathize with clients, especially when delivering unpleasant news such as positive test results or unplanned pregnancies.
* Advise, counsel, and educate individuals of all ages on sexual and reproductive health, taking into account the needs of those under 16 when necessary.
* Advise clients and refer as appropriate regarding wanted or unwanted pregnancies, supporting informed choices.
* Provide training and education to multidisciplinary teams outside of the clinical setting.
* Liaise with other disciplines and agencies, referring clients to relevant services such as doctor-led clinics, termination services, or child protection when working in nurse-led clinics.
* Undertake minor invasive procedures, e.g., swabs, implant fitting or removal.
* Assess, diagnose, and treat genital conditions.
* Supply medicines under Patient Group Directions.
