Overview
We are in search of a 'first class' Chef to join our team, full time, including some weekends.
Responsibilities
* Support the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals and snacks throughout the day in line with residents' preferences and dietary needs (e.g., diabetics, texture-modified food, vegetarian).
* Stock management and ordering supplies.
* Menu planning.
* Maintain food safety checks and records as per company requirements.
* Ensure awareness of and adherence to company policy and procedures.
* Follow Health and Safety procedures.
* Ensure all equipment and food service areas are kept clean and in excellent working condition.
* Work alongside the Activities Team to cater for special events within the home.
* Managing budgets.
* Oversee and ensure that employee supervisions are completed in a timely basis.
* Rota scheduling.
* Complete all mandatory training and other training identified to develop skills.
* Communicate effectively with other staff, relatives and visitors including professional agencies.
* Practice and promote safe working practices within the Home.
Qualifications
* Previous experience of working in a care setting.
* Qualification(s) in catering.
* Qualification(s) in food safety/hygiene.
* Desirable Characteristics:
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
o Good interpersonal skills.
o Good team player.
o Follow food safety requirements.
o Possess good judgement, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
o Effective time keeping and time management.
Role Details
Clumber House Care Home - 81 Dickens Ln, Poynton, Stockport SK12 1NT
Full Time - 36h/week over 4 days including every other weekend.
Shift pattern: 07:30 AM - 05:30 PM
£16.50/h
