We’re seeking a dedicated Senior / Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our team at The Portland Hospital, rated “Good” by the CQC. Renowned for clinical excellence, our hospital specializes in Paediatrics, Obstetrics, and Women’s Health, providing advanced medical and surgical care in a state-of-the-art environment.
The role involves managing a clinical caseload of outpatient children with diagnoses such as cerebral palsy, autism, developmental delays, and genetic differences, including wheelchair assessments. Collaboration with the MDT is essential, and there may be inpatient caseload management and service development responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services to children and families.
* Conduct assessments and treatments independently, with appropriate goal setting within MDT meetings.
* Assist in service development projects alongside the Clinical Lead.
* Supervise students and therapy assistants, providing clinical and educational support.
* Engage in ongoing CPD to enhance skills and contribute to policy development.
* Promote occupational therapy within the hospital and to external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
* BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
* HCPC registered.
* Minimum 2 years’ pediatric experience in a clinical setting, outpatient experience preferred.
* Knowledge of pediatric assessments and interventions.
