Service Administrator
Location: Swindon
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am-5pm
Salary: £25,000-£35,000
We are working with a well-established commercial automotive business that specialises in the repair and maintenance of commercial vehicles and trailers. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Service Administrator to support their busy Swindon operation.
This is a varied, customer-facing role where organisation, communication, and attention to detail are key. You’ll be based within the service reception and act as a central point of contact between customers, technicians, and suppliers.
Key responsibilities of the Service Administrator include:
Meeting and greeting customers, both in person and over the phone
Raising job cards for all bookings and creating service jobs
Obtaining order numbers and authorisation for work
Providing regular progress updates to customers
Planning scheduled servicing, MOT, and tachograph bookings
Processing and checking retail invoice costing
Ensuring all parts are correctly loaded and invoiced
Receiving, validating, recording, and allocating parts and consumables
Dealing with customer queries via email in a timely manner
Supporting with general administrative dutiesTo succeed as a Service Administrator, you’ll be proactive, take pride in your work, and communicate confidently with customers and colleagues. A willingness to learn and engage with training is essential, along with a genuine interest in building a long-term career within the automotive industry.
Previous experience as a Service Administrator within a car or commercial dealership environment is required. Automotive service and parts experience is essential, although full training will be provided on internal systems and processes.
This Service Administrator role offers a competitive salary depending on experience, Monday to Friday hours (8:30am–5:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch), company uniform, and additional benefits after 12 months’ service.
