Shifts: Full Time, Days – Monday to Thursday (7:00am – 3:30pm), Friday (7:00am – 2:30pm) – 39 hours per week. OT availability.
Generations People is currently recruiting for Production Operatives to join a highly reputable team based in the Mansfield, NG17 area. Our client is a British manufacturer and supplier of high performance, industrial and decorative coatings and paints.
The Production Operatives are responsible for performing various tasks within a manufacturing factory to ensure efficient production and high-quality output.
This role involves operating machinery, handling raw materials, conducting quality checks and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Additionally, the Production Operative will actively participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to the manufacturing processes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on quality, safety, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Operate paint making manufacturing equipment such as high-speed dispersers, bead mills, and pumps.
- Manufacture products within deadlines to ensure warehouse and/or customer lead times are met.
- Follow product formulations and manufacturing methods to mix products.
- Submit samples for quality control testing.
- Handle and load hazardous and non-hazardous dry materials.
- Handle and dispense hazardous and non-hazardous.
- Provide testing samples to Quality Control.
- Comply with company policies, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Collaborate with other departments to complete production orders on time.
- Contribute ideas to improve or optimise manufacturing procedures.
- Keep tools, equipment, and work environment clean and organised daily.
- Maintain an organised workspace, ensuring tools and materials are stored correctly.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and workflow.
- Assist with inventory management and stock check audits.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
Essential Skills and Competences
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools for assembly tasks.
- Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring high-quality output in all tasks.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues.
- Basic computer skills and experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- GCSE in Maths, Science or Technology based subject.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production facility – desirable.
- Experience operating machinery or equipment.
- Experience handling raw materials and/or finished goods.
- Have experience using material handling equipment such as forklifts.
- Previous experience in the coatings industry – advantageous.
- Experience handling powder raw materials and weighing quantities for manufacture.
