Serco are recruiting for a Mechanical Technician to join the team at Great Western Hospital. This role will ensure safe and efficient maintenance of the mechanical services and equipment within the hospital, as directed by Estates Supervisors and Management.
Key Details:
* Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
* Shift patterns vary between 0700 & 1900 hours for an 8-hour period
* Salary £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
* On call generous allowance plus Serco benefits
* AP Duty holder payments
Main Accountabilities:
* To carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing commissioning and planned maintenance to a wide range of Services, Plant and Equipment
* Provide a detailed assessments and risks for significant shutdowns and operations to the Management Team
* Plan and schedule major interruptions, maintenance activities, co-ordinate work and working alongside contractors
* Analysis and diagnosis of faults in complex, multi-faceted equipment
* To carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance to a wide range of Plant and Equipment
* To work in accordance with all relevant Serco Policies & Procedures, Workplace Regulations and Best Practice Guidelines
What You’ll Need To Do The Role:
* Completion of a recognised appropriate Mechanical Apprenticeship or other relevant structured Training Program
* Certificate of Higher education Level 3 Certificate/Diploma/Certificate Level 3 NVQ
* Proven experience of working in a similar environment
* Knowledge and understanding of Mechanical Building Services
* Good communication and customer service skills
