Company Overview
A long established packaging manufacturer based in both the Bridgend and Rhondda areas, we are currently recruiting a Quality & Sample Technician to join a newly formed team.
Summary
This is a multi-functional role, where you will be a member of the Quality team, working closely with the Quality Manager, and Production Teams to ensure the smooth running of the Production facilities with an emphasis on product quality and hygiene operations.
You will also work closely with the Commercial Team, in respect of product samples, for customers.
Specific Role Responsibilities
As a, you will be working approximately 2-3 days, Monday to Friday, to:
· Create and manage product specifications
· Conduct Hygiene and GMP audits
· Raise NCRs for internal non-conforming products
· Monitor, support and escalate any shop-floor cleanliness and employee hygiene issues
· Input data across various quality systems
· Assist with customer product quality complaints
· Oversee document control within production
· Issue appropriate documents, PPE and tools
· Conduct First-off approvals and pallet positive release
· Appropriately file and store QA paperwork
· Understand BRC and ISO requirements and support with these external audits
· Any other ad hoc Quality related tasks
As a, you will be working approximately 2-3 days, Monday to Friday, to:
· Liaise with the Commercial team on customer sample requirements and lead time
· Order / utilise appropriate stock materials
· Generate required samples to customer specifications
· Conduct appropriate testing in line with customer requirements
· Complete all required paperwork
· Assist in trial runs or pilot batches for new products
· Any other ad hoc Sample related tasks
Standard responsibilities
· Ensure and maintain a safe working environment by adherence to HSE requirements
· Complete Hazard Tags where required

· Maintain all housekeeping activities and cleaning schedules as required / relevant ISO/BRC requirements
· Support continuous improvement activities and initiatives
· To carry out or assist with any duties as deemed necessary in connection with the business

Essential Requirements:
· Previous experience in a fast paced Manufacturing environment – ideally food manufacturing or equivalent
· Good standard of education, with demonstrable skills in customer service, relationship building, problem solving and excellent communication skills both verbal and written
· Demonstrates a good sense of priorities, structures workload effectively and delivers consistently good results
· Attention to detail across all aspects of the role
· Flexible & adaptable to the changing requirements of the business
· Ability to meet deadlines and work under time pressures
· Uses own initiative to work with minimal guidance
· Good IT Proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word) with the ability to learn and use business specific applications

Pay: £13.01 per hour
