We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident Customer Service Advisor to join our fantastic Customer Services Team at Rutland County Council. This is a chance to make a positive difference to how we deliver effective customer services to our Rutland community. As a unitary council we deliver diverse services and are looking for individuals to join us in delivering a service that continuously improves our customer’s experience.
About you
* Experience in a similar Customer Service Advisor role delivering a “one-stop” service
* Confident, adaptable with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Able to act with diplomacy and tact at all levels and be discreet with confidential information
* Able to deal with challenging situations whilst remaining calm and professional
* Solution focused, able to resolve queries and deliver positive outcomes for customers
About the role
As a Customer Service Advisor, you will be responsible for:
* Acting as the first point of contact for customers via phone, online and face to face interactions
* Taking responsibility for resolving customer enquiries in a professional, efficient and sensitive manner
* Recording and maintaining customer contact information accurately and in line with the available technology and processes
* Accessing and retrieving information from Council databases, back-end systems and the internet as appropriate to resolve customer enquiries
Not everyone can deliver effective customer services, however this role is extremely rewarding and vital as it impacts directly on the lives of our Rutland residents and community.
The Customer Service Advisor interviews will be held on 13 November 2025. Please be advised this could be subject to change, in which case we will give appropriate notice.
