Northern Skills are recruiting on behalf of DSAV Ltd for an Audiovisual Level 5 apprentice. As an Audio-Visual Level 5 Apprentice at DSAV Ltd, you will take part in a comprehensive training programme designed to develop your skills in designing, installing and operating a wide range of audio-visual equipment configurations.

Wage

£11,778 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.


What you\'ll do at work

* Installation Support and Technical Management: Provide autonomous technical support and management for installations, ensuring seamless operation of all AV components
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Work collaboratively with clients, support teams, external contractors, and management to facilitate effective communication and installation delivery
* Client Consultation: Advise and guide customers on AV requirements for various scenarios, manage expectations, and address any concerns or complaints
* System Design and Installation: Design integrated audio-visual systems tailored to customer needs and specific project environments. Plan, install and configure AV over IP systems to ensure optimal performance
* Coordinate and conduct videoconferencing setup and testing, ensuring adherence to required specifications and optimal performance
* IT Support: Install and support the use of personal computers, servers, and digital signage as part of integrated AV solutions
* Content Creation: Capture, edit and post-produce audio and video content to support client projects and events
* Virtual Events Management: Plan and manage virtual events and online broadcasts, ensuring high-quality delivery and user engagement
* Quality Assurance: Analyse the design, planning and execution of services through testing and customer feedback. Diagnose issues, evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements
* Training Provision: Develop and provide technical training for inexperienced end users to ensure effective utilisation of AV systems
* Administrative Duties: Carry out administrative tasks related to AV services, including logging requests, updating event calendars, tracking project progress, producing purchase orders, processing invoices, and managing email communications
* Equipment Maintenance: Maintain audio-visual equipment and associated inventory across various spaces, ensuring systems are event-ready and meet specific requirements

Training

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

* Integrate a projector and/or display as part of an audiovisual presentation
* Audio mixing; loudness, timbre, spatialisation, and channel management
* Apply and problem solve video signal flow for live production
* Operate and program lighting control software/hardware
* Root cause analysis & problem solving
* Collate, compare, and synthesise information from various sources
* Work collaboratively; Building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders (such as performers, public speakers, presenters, clients and event organisers)
* Communicate technical concepts with clarity in person and in writing to end users of all skill levels and seniority
* Install, test, and commission relevant hardware
* Configure and manage remote participation systems
* Edit audio and video content
* Prepare, maintain, and manipulate audio and video assets through post-production
* Create digital assets for video workflows
* Manual camera operating for a range of contemporary S35mm digital cameras
* Deliver virtual event technical operations
* Clearly advise and guide event participants
* Devise a learning program intended to cover a particular device/system
* Identify personal training and professional development needs via research and investigation
* Organise appropriate personal professional development activities to develop and enhance own role and skills
* Use collaborative online environments to schedule and update projects and tasks
* Complete risk assessment documentation
* Accurately assesses level of risk to health and safety of themselves and others
* Test and maintain audiovisual equipment, cables, and connectors: substitute items where necessary
* Document and record maintenance activities
* Safe storage of equipment
* Create a coherent planning document
* Operate a video camera and vision mixer

Requirements

GCSE in:

Maths and English (grade 4)

Any Subject (grade Pass)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
