Family Law Senior Fee Earner

About the Role We have an exciting opening for an experienced Family Lawyer to join a team in a senior capacity. This role offers the chance to work hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with the flexibility of hybrid working—up to three days per week from home.
You can be based at either the Ashby de la Zouch or Derby office. Candidates based in Derby should be willing to attend the Ashby office during the initial probationary period for training, and periodically thereafter for team meetings and client appointments.
Main Responsibilities
1. Manage a varied caseload including divorce, financial and property disputes, child-related disputes, cohabitee disputes, domestic abuse cases, and preparation of legal agreements (separation, cohabitation, pre/post nuptial, change of name deeds)
2. Ensure timely progression of client work and maintain excellent client communication
3. Report on work progress at departmental meetings and 1:1s with line manager
4. Maintain compliance with file and case management quality standards and Law Society requirements
5. Support business development and marketing initiatives, working closely with the Business Development Executive
6. Network with other professionals and contacts individually and as part of the team
7. Accurately use the firm’s case management system and ensure files are ready for monthly reviews
8. Undertake relevant training and comply with Law Society CPD requirements
Skills, Qualifications and Experience Applicants should meet the following criteria:
9. Qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEX with a minimum of 6 years PQE
10. Proven experience handling a broad range of family law matters
11. Ability to manage a varied caseload independently
12. Target-driven and highly organised with excellent prioritisation skills
13. Exceptional client care and communication skills (verbal and written)
14. Attention to detail and a proactive, ‘can do’ attitude
15. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
16. Practicing certificate with no restrictions
