Junior Buyer
Reports to: Supply Chain Manager
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Location: Fareham
Salary: £26,000 – £32,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: 6-month initial contract with the view to go permanent

Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to support the Supply Chain team. The successful candidate will assist in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services to ensure cost-effective, timely, and high-quality supply to the business.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in the procurement of materials, components, and services in line with company requirements.
· Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal procedures.
· Support supplier negotiations to achieve competitive pricing and favourable terms.
· Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and quality, escalating any issues to the Supply Chain Manager.
· Work closely with internal departments (production, planning, finance) to ensure purchasing activities support operational needs.
· Maintain accurate records within the ERP/MRP system.
· Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
Skills & Experience
· Previous experience in a purchasing or supply chain role is desirable but not essential.
· Strong communication and organisational skills.
· Confident using Microsoft Office; experience with ERP/MRP systems advantageous.
· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
· Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
