Pastoral Support – Sixth Form Salary: Grade 5 (SCP 9-17) pro-rata Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday (40 weeks per year, term time including inset days plus 1 week) Purpose To assist the Head of Sixth Form and provide support to staff, students, parents, and external agencies. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Administrative Duties Arrange parental meetings as required. Liaise with the Sixth Form Tutor team on all relevant administrative issues. Use SIMS to track and evaluate attendance and punctuality, liaising with tutors and parents to improve these where needed. Identify patterns and report findings at Sixth Form meetings. Support the Sixth Form application process and KS4-KS5 transition induction. Assist with preparation and administration of A-level and GCSE results. Promote and monitor work experience, including documentation via relevant platforms. Support educational programmes (e.g., Open Learn) and monitor enrichment activities. Promote equality and inclusion for all students. Maintain Further and Higher Education resources in the Sixth Form. Support the Head of Sixth Form with next steps information, including UCAS and apprenticeship applications. Undertake relevant training and attend staff meetings. Attend Sixth Form line management meetings and record minutes. Supervise the day-to-day running of the Sixth Form: students and facilities. Ensure all medical information is up to date. Undertake any reasonable task as directed by the Head of Sixth Form. Stakeholder-Facing Duties Act as the first point of contact for students, parents, and external agencies. Ensure adherence to the Sixth Form Code of Conduct. Implement the school’s rewards and sanctions policy within the Sixth Form Centre. Receive visitors, speakers, and prospective students; show visitors around. Ensure timely communication of information to students and staff. Support MAT students, monitoring attendance, progress, and transport needs. Arrange student ambassadors for parental events. Attend parental events and other after-school commitments as required. Standards and Quality Assurance Support the aims and ethos of the school. Set a good example in dress, punctuality, and attendance. Attend team and staff meetings. Undertake professional duties as assigned by the Head Teacher. Be proactive regarding Health and Safety. Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
