What you'll do

You will play a crucial role in business partnering with the loss prevention team to provide insightful analysis and shape strategies aimed at reducing stock loss and improving the bottom line. You will be responsible for completing timely and accurate period-end reporting on Shrink performance, running and interpreting corporate management reports, identifying risks and anomalies, completing ad hoc analysis, and supporting various finance processes and budgets. Your role will involve collaborating with internal teams, driving process improvements, and maintaining strong financial control while effectively communicating with stakeholders of varying financial and commercial acumen. Success in this role will be reflected in your ability to support the business in making informed financial decisions that enhance performance, drive incremental income, improve ROI, and manage cost lines effectively.

Who you are

You’re a professionally qualified or part qualified accountant with a strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering process improvements. Your ability to turn data into actionable insights, along with your effective communication skills, allows you to partner with stakeholders at all levels and drive informed financial decisions to enhance business performance. With a keen eye for detail, strong financial control, and the capacity to work autonomously while prioritising effectively, you play a critical role in shaping strategies to reduce stock loss, improve profitability, and manage costs efficiently within the retail environment.

Essential Criteria

1. Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or actively studying towards one of these qualifications
2. Business partnering experience within a Commercial Finance role, as well as experience in delivering process improvements within a finance or commercial environment
3. Demonstrable proficiency in Excel and numerical analysis, including the ability to interpret data and communicate insights effectively
4. Track record of maintaining robust financial controls, with evidence of implementing or sustaining such environments
5. Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across varying levels of financial and commercial understanding
6. Financial appraisal experience is desirable,. business cases/benefit measurement
