Priory Cragston Court is looking to recruit a Recovery Support Worker to join their team. £12.90 per hour Day Shifts: 08:00 - 20:15 weekends included (Working on a 3 week rota). 30 hours per week Maybe required to work occasional nights shifts. Cragston Court is located in Blakelaw, a suburb of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. It is a 20 bed residential service, offering nurse-led rehabilitation programmes for people living with enduring mental health conditions. We support people coming to us from a hospital environment, and those stepping up from another community placement or their own homes. Our team are dedicated to supporting the people we care for to maximise their independence, enhance the quality of their day-to-day living and ultimately enable them to live in a community setting. What you'll be doing You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work. As a Recovery Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives. To provides practical support and responsive care to service users who require support in their rehabilitation and recovery whilst ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation. Observes and monitors the wellbeing of residents ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate. Provide specific interventions with service users as delegated by a Registered Nurse, and following training and competency attainment. Such interventions include Observation and Engagement with service users, escorting on appointments, and being involved in de-escalation and management of violence and aggression. Contribute to a team approach to residential care in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team. Participate in regular team meetings and attend other meetings as requested Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes Assistance and support to attend medical appointments Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth What you'll bring to the role Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. The ideal candidate: Qualifications and Skills Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature Empathy, understanding and patience Ability to work on your own and as part of a team Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges Competent in verbal and written English A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential To be considered for this role, we require you to have the right to work in the UK.
