This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic and passionate Nurse to help shape our vision in how we provide clinical services to individuals whose lives have been affected by drugs and alcohol.

Where: Birmingham (This is a fully on-site position. Remote or hybrid working arrangements are not available for this role.)

Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

Full Time Salary: £37,184.91 - £43,384.62 per annum dependent on experience (Pro rata for part time)

Contract Type: Permanent

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

The Substance Misuse Nurse role is a varied one, the successful candidate will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, offering specialist clinical interventions to people who use our services.

In our services no two days are the same. Every person who comes into our service is treated as an individual, so understanding the importance of a whole person approach along with being curious, a good listener, a clinically robust practitioner and having a flexible approach are essential skills.

Your role includes:

1. Undertaking physical and mental health assessments for people who access our services when
2. Appropriate sign posting/referral to primary care or appropriate secondary health care services for identified health issues
3. Providing education, health promotion and screening for blood borne viruses (BBV)
4. Providing Hepatitis B vaccinations when indicated
5. Contributing to CGL’s Naloxone Strategy
6. Ensuring that procedures are regularly reviewed to promote best practice and evidenced based practice in accordance with UK Guidelines on Clinical Management, NICE guidance, and CGL clinical protocols and procedures
7. Providing harm reduction advice to injecting service users, providing information and equipment and ensure all equipment is disposed of safely
8. Recording and inputting client data and information

9. We hold regular national nurse and HCA forums, and you will have regular 1:1s and appraisals
10. We actively support our nurses with revalidation with protected continuing professional development time, which totals up to 6 days per year.
11. We also have a wide range of educational opportunities including free access to the RCNi learning platform and we reimburse your NMC fee
12. We offer you the opportunity to use the government backed Apprenticeship Levy fund to develop nursing practice in line with your specific role
