Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Selby Urgent Treatment Centre team based at Selby Hospital, within York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role is open to a suitably qualified ENP at Band 7.
Qualifications and Requirements
The Band 7 candidate must have a recognised qualification, training and experience as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner or similar if AHP. Trainee ENPs must already be undertaking or completing a recognised Minor Injuries and Illness Course (that includes X Ray interpretation), and be prepared to undertake further training in post. Applicants are welcome to apply from those professional groups eligible to undertake non-medical prescribing under current statutory regulations. The successful candidate should possess a strong desire to develop themselves to deliver outstanding care, helping to develop the advanced practice strategy within the Trust.
Responsibilities
* Take a complete history and perform clinical examination to diagnose and implement treatment for patients presenting with varied conditions.
* Evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment and discharge patients or refer to a specialist as necessary.
* As an autonomous practitioner, work within your scope of practice and according to broad local policies and procedures.
* Be proactive in promoting health and well-being to patients and give health advice and education, and act as a mentor to other staff members and nursing students.
* Further your own education with the support of the Trust, keep up to date with skills and competencies, monitor and update local policies and procedures and develop and participate in clinical research.
