We are looking for a Claims Dispute & Litigation Controller to join our Claims Team in Newcastle. This role sits within a growing Newcastle disputes practice with a primary focus on aviation‑related claims, acting for major airline clients on passenger disputes. Alongside this, you will also gain exposure to a broader range of consumer disputes work, offering a varied and dynamic introduction to commercial litigation.
Responsibilities
* Assist legally qualified colleagues in the conduct of high‑volume consumer claims, both within the aviation sector and in other key sectors
* Maintain accurate case management records and meet court deadlines
* Review claims, client evidence, and other documentation to inform liability decisions
* Draft legal documents including defences, witness statements, and other court forms
* Support CPR‑compliant case progression, produce exhibit bundles and hearing bundles
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, counsel, and third‑party opponents
* Attend mandatory mediation appointments
* Produce post‑trial reports feeding into a process of continuous improvement
* Ensure efficient, commercially focused claims handling
Qualifications
* Experience in claims, paralegal, or litigation support roles
* Interest in aviation and consumer litigation
* Strong organisation and attention to detail
* Strong communication skills
* Proactive and commercially aware
* Collaborative and motivated to develop
