Bean Medical Practice is a small friendly practice with a list size of approximately 4,000 patients. We are currently looking to recruit a practice nurse to join our team.
Main duties of the job
* Manage patients with chronic disease, running specific clinic sessions and maintaining robust call and recall systems.
* Participate in national screening work such as cervical cytology and deliver the national immunisation and vaccination schedule.
* Provide travel health advice and administer appropriate vaccinations.
* Treat patients with minor injuries.
* Provide directly and assist GPs with contraceptive services.
* Break bad news to patients/parents/carers and provide appropriate ongoing support to meet identified needs.
* Act as chaperone when required.
* Undertake health promotion to help educate patients.
* Select, carry out, and interpret results of specific tests.
* Maintain accurate patient records and enter onto the computer using agreed Read Codes.
* Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care.
* Participate in regular Practice audit and research projects.
* Contribute to the preparation of Practice development plans.
* Maintain own annual registration with the NMC and adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct.
* Ensure all statutory regulations (e.g., Health & Safety, COSHH) are implemented and adhered to.
* Maintain own continuous professional development and keep PDP up-to-date in line with Practice requirements.
* Attend and participate in staff and Practice meetings and in-house clinical training sessions.
* Perform any other reasonable duties as required.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* RGN Qualification
* Current NMC registration
* Accredited training in chronic disease management
* Cervical cytology qualification
* Accredited training in anticoagulation management
Experience
* Up-to-date training in childhood immunisations
* At least 2 years post-registration experience at E grade
* Experience in health promotion
* Experience in family planning
* Recent updating in primary care
* Experience working with clinical systems
