Salary: £77,160 - £115,167 pro rata
Plus Distant Islands Allowance £1,406 pro rata
24 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to take on a strategic, combined and pivotal leadership role within NHS Western Isles (NHSWI). This post combines Clinical Director for Quality, Improvement and Realistic Medicine alongside Clinical Lead for Integrated Front Door Services.
1. Clinical Director for Quality, Improvement and Realistic Medicine (5 Sessions)
The post holder will be responsible for providing leadership across the whole system on the key domains of Realistic Medicine with a focus on the Value-Based Health and Care agenda. They will act as the local co-ordination for Sustainable Delivery Champion ensuring NHSWI has input into and alignment with national best practice pathways and practices. The post holder will also help deliver the local quality strategy based on the principles outlined in NHS Scotland Quality Strategy and the 2020 Vision for Health and Social Care in Scotland.
2. Clinical Lead for the Integrated Front Door (1 session)
Over the last 3 years NHSWI has developed an innovative and integrated front door model with further expansion of the Hospital at Home service (H@H) planned within the next two years.
The post holder will provide managerial and clinical leadership to the clinical teams including embedding a culture of supported admission avoidance and early facilitated discharge with patients within the virtual H@H ward. This pivotal role will support a seven-day service that has evolved over the past three years, building on the close collaboration between the current front door services (H@H, Urgent and Unscheduled Care ANPs and the Acute Assessment Unit. The role also encompasses the development and delivery of a similar service based at Uist & Barra Hospital and St Brendans Hospital.
We are seeking individuals who understand the current challenges faced by NHSWI and are willing to innovate, to help patients get the best possible care in their home environment.
Candidate must be a GMC registered General Practitioner.
