Assistant Headteacher
The Governing Body of Fitzalan High School wish to appoint an Assistant Headteacher to join our enthusiastic, dedicated and ambitious team and be part of our continued drive for excellence.
Fitzalan High is a truly unique school with high aspirations and excellent outcomes for pupils. Over the past ten years and more, Fitzalan High has been on a journey of continuous improvement, achieving excellent outcomes for pupils, and in September 2023 moving into a state-of-the-art new building truly fit for the 21st Century. The Estyn inspection report November 2024, recognised that the school provides its pupils with a highly caring, nurturing and inclusive environment. It is particularly effective in establishing a culture that celebrates its notably diverse community. This helps to foster positive attitudes towards diversity, equity and the understanding of different cultures and backgrounds.
We are looking for a dynamic, trusted and committed person who will:
Inspire a culture where every pupil and every member of staff believes they can achieve and succeed, modelling unwavering optimism and ambition.
Provide strategic whole school leadership, contributing effectively to the school’s vision, improvement priorities and long term development.
Drive high expectations and standards, using evidence informed practice and data led decision making to raise achievement.
Champion inclusion, equity and wellbeing, ensuring that our diverse community is celebrated and that every pupil is known, valued and supported.
Model professional integrity, resilience and emotional intelligence, acting as a role model for pupils and colleagues in all aspects of school life.
Lead, motivate and develop staff, building highly effective teams and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and reflective practice.
Contribute fully to the strategic leadership and operational management of the school, demonstrating initiative, accountability and a commitment to excellence.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and committed person with the desire to support our pupils to be the best that they can be. A strong commitment to continuous improvement of provision is vital, as is a desire to be part of our drive for excellence.
