Due to increased workload, we are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join our Southern Region on a £12m Highways scheme in Folkestone or a new Entry Exit System at the Port of Dover, involving construction of new infrastructure in the Port.
Main Duties
1. Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental objectives
2. Prepare plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation
3. Perform on-site measurements and measurements of drawings as required
4. Identify potential risks and evaluate options for control
5. Conduct ongoing cost analysis of maintenance and repair work
6. Analyze subcontractors' quotations
7. Prepare and agree variation accounts
8. Prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts
9. Prepare and issue certification for contract payments to subcontractors
10. Provide evidence for resolution of disputes
Must Haves
* Ambitious individual with excellent communication skills and a flexible approach
* Innovative problem-solving skills and negotiation abilities across construction environments
* Strong numeracy and IT skills to handle financial and mathematical demands
* Experience working on civil engineering schemes including Highways, Structures, River works, and Flood Protection with a main contractor
* Experience as a Quantity Surveyor working with the NEC form of contract
