Job Description
My client is a Mechanical and Electrical Contractor based in Warwick with over 50 years of established presence. Renowned in the construction industry, we work for main contractors, reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Manager. You will be engaged in reactive and planned maintenance across various commercial and domestic settings, including offices, health centres, hotels, schools, residential buildings, care homes, and student accommodation.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting and rectifying issues such as leaks, faulty toilets, boilers, and heating system problems. You will need to report back to the office with findings, material requirements, and detailed notes to facilitate client communication and scheduling of further visits.
The role requires a broad knowledge of systems, strong organizational skills, practicality, and high standards of workmanship. You will also perform scheduled maintenance checks on systems like boilers, water supplies, heating, and ventilation, typically once or twice yearly. Additionally, the role involves maintenance and small works for local businesses and supporting the major projects team during defect periods post-project completion. All work is primarily in the Midlands area, mainly around Birmingham, with some visits to Nottingham and nearby locations.
Customer focus is essential, as you will enter clients' homes and offices, requiring respectful, polite, and effective communication. This position offers a supportive, friendly environment with a focus on high-quality work.
Experience/Requirements
* Minimum five years of relevant construction industry experience in installation or maintenance roles
* NVQ in domestic and commercial plumbing
* NVQ in Heating and Ventilation
* Gas Safe Qualified (minimum domestic)
* Relevant trade CSCS skills card
* Full UK Driver's License
* Excellent customer service skills
* Ability to work independently and proactively, making decisions as needed
* Positive and friendly outlook
Package
* Working hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with one hour lunch
* 25 days holiday plus statutory 8 days
