Job Overview
The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to application systems analysis and programming activities. Citi is seeking a highly motivated candidate for Senior Python developer in Wholesale Credit Risk Technology team that serves Institutional Credit Management (ICM). The candidate will be a core member of the technology team responsible for implementing projects based on Python, FastAPI, MCP, LLM, Java and other latest technologies. This role offers the opportunity to join the Wholesale Credit Risk Division and gain exposure to business and technology initiatives aimed at maintaining a lead position among its competitors.
Job Requirements
* Research and resolve complex issues, escalating as appropriate.
* 5+ years of hands‑on experience in building an enterprise‑scale, highly componentized application using Python, FastAPI.
* Hands‑on development experience in Python.
* Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes and other containerized platforms.
* Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with the development team.
* Ability to effectively communicate development progress to the Project Lead.
* Work with developers onshore, offshore and matrix teams to implement a business solution.
* Investigate possible bug scenarios and production support issues.
* Recent experience with modern Python development using large language models, Model Context Protocol, and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture.
* Experience developing applications in the financial services industry is preferred.
Education
* Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
