Your Role\n\nOur engineering works cover a range of different sectors such as energy networks, social infrastructure and transport working with clients such as SSE.\u00A0 Apprentices are based within a variety of different teams working on a wide range of projects, so the type of roles that we have are really varied and interesting. From day one on site you will be with an experienced team of professionals, supporting you to learn and grow your career as a BAM apprentice.\n\nQuantity surveyors are the construction professionals who make up our commercial management team. As a quantity surveying apprentices you will work predominantly on site, supporting the delivery of projects and learning from experienced professionals.\n\nYour day to day will include:\n\nTechnical Development\n\nGain hands-on experience and put your learning into practise\n\nProblem Solving\n\nLearn how to overcome challenges on live projects\nDrive quality through effective planning and right first time delivery\n\nOn-Site Experience\n\nBe part of real construction projects and work closely with our skilled workforce\nApply your learning and knowledge in real world scenarios\nLearn how to apply and manage contracts\nMonitor costs associated with projects\nWork with the senior quantity surveyors and site team to ensure any changes to cost and materials are recorded.\n\nSafety and Sustainability\n\nHelp to ensure that work is carried out safely in line with the company Health and Safety.\nMaintaining high personal standards in health and safety\nMaintaining high standards in environmental awareness and behaviour\nMonitoring and recording delivery against the agreed programme and construction methods\nEnsuring that works are accurate and set out before work commences\n\n What you'll need\n\nAcademic Requirements\n\nScottish National 5 (N5) qualification with grades A or B\n\nPlus\n\n4 x Highers including Maths (Minimum BBBB)\n\nor\u00A0\n\nModern Apprenticeship (MA) in Civil Engineering SCQF 5/6\n\n\n\n
