Eden Brown Synergy are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Team Manager for Family Help Team in Central Bedfordshire Council

Job Title: Team Manager - Family Help Team

Location: Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, Central Bedfordshire, SG17 5TQ
Pay Rate: Up to £45 per hour

About the Role:

At Central Bedfordshire Council, we believe that families come in all shapes and sizes, and sometimes they need extra support. As a Team Manager in the Family Help Team, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team to provide critical support to families, ensuring they receive the care, guidance, and stability needed at pivotal times.

In this role, you will be instrumental in overseeing the delivery of assessment, care planning, and intervention services for families, including those under targeted early help, child in need, and child protection pathways. You will work closely with both your team and external partners to safeguard children and inspire them to reach their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a team of Social Workers and Family Practitioners, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Oversee and support assessment, care planning, and intervention for children and families.
Make day-to-day safeguarding decisions and ensure practice is consistently of a high standard.
Provide guidance, supervision, and professional development opportunities to team members.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to provide integrated support to families.
Contribute to the development and improvement of services to ensure effectiveness and high performance.

Key Requirements:

Social Work Degree and Social Work England Registration.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a managerial or leadership role within children's services.
Extensive experience in statutory social work and child protection.
Strong leadership and management skills, with a commitment to developing your team.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle complex situations and conflicts.
Ability to think creatively to solve problems and drive improvements.
Experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment and handling sensitive and difficult decisions with empathy and professionalism.

Work Environment:

You will be required to attend the office base at least twice weekly to support your team and carry out your role effectively.
You will also be expected to attend in-person team meetings once a week.

Essential Requirements:
* Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
* At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
* Social Work England Registration
* Driving license and access to own vehicle
