The Hangleton and Knoll Project is a nationally recognised and award-winning Community Development and Youthwork charity; based in the West of Brighton and Hove in South East England. A part of the community since 1983 we are a project working for the community with the community and managed by the community.

Since the outset local residents have shaped and developed the project to become what it is today; a model of good practice for how a community is able to develop and manage its own resources.

You will be working to develop warm, friendly relationships with residents, to organise community learning opportunities and activities focused on health and wellbeing, in addition to supporting a wide range of activities and events across all sections of the community.

This post is a fantastic opportunity at any stage of life for someone with an interest in community health, wellbeing and learning. We offer developmental training opportunities and reflective practice, and you’ll work as part of a team with a diverse range of residents and service providers.

HKP Safeguarding Statement

It is the Duty of Care of the Hangleton & Knoll Project to ensure that any children, young people and adults at risk who are participating within our service are safe from harm and exploitation. The protection from abuse, neglect, exploitation and wellbeing of children, young people and adults at risk is a paramount consideration when providing services. The Project aims to provide an environment that ensures people are safe from potential abuse and will respond to any suspicion of potential abuse in a way that respects the person’s dignity and reinforces responsibility to the children and young people and adult at risk.

We particularly encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities, people with disabilities, and men, as these groups are underrepresented in children and young people’s mental health roles.
