ABOUT US
The purpose of our charity is to improve the life chances of children who are blind and visually impaired by providing them with access to the visual images that colour and inform all our lives. To achieve this we create, produce and publish unique audio and tactile Touch to See books that bring the visual world to life for them. Our special books help children learn to read, support students in schools, inspire interests and enable lifelong learning. They are distributed across the UK via our FREE postal library service to more than 5,000 children, young people and adults living with sight loss. @livingpaintings
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The main purpose of this job is to provide all round administrative support to the fundraising team. You will be using your skills to help with donor stewardship (ensuring all the different people and organisations are thanked for gifts and feel valued), maintaining accurate records using our database and contributing to new fundraising initiatives. Training will be provided as you develop in the role.
WORKING ARRANGMENTS
You will be working 4 days per week in the office in Kingsclere, Berkshire and from home on Fridays with some flexibility.
We offer 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays rising by 1 day per annum up to 30 days when working on a full time basis.
DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Support the whole team in completing administrative tasks
· Process all donations in an appropriate fashion and ensure that all necessary follow-up work is completed
· Maintain accurate records using the charity's database and systems
· Provide positive, pro-active support to individuals choosing to raise money for Living Paintings
· Supervise and support volunteers as appropriate
· Help with grant applications and reporting
· Contribute to the creation and support of Living Paintings events
· Undertake specific projects that may be additional to the tasks detailed above as agreed with the Chief Executive.
· Ensure issues, concerns and problems are escalated where appropriate.
· Act as a representative of Living Paintings.
The qualifications and/or experience needed:
* GCSE standard in English and Maths essential and Further Education or equivalent experience.
* A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience (admin and/or fundraising).
* Excellent IT skills.
It would be an added bonus if the candidate has experience of working in the charitable sector.

* A good communicator, happy and confident talking face to face and by telephone with a range of people to promote the charity and its work
* Someone with great organisational skills, who is able to switch between different priorities
* Someone who has good numeracy with an excellent eye for detail.

* Enjoy dealing confidently with people at all levels and get on well with colleagues and other stakeholders
* Be able to work on their own initiative and able to pitch in to support the wider team as necessary

General requirements
* Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the UK.
* Able to travel occasionally for work within the UK.
* On rare occasions able to work on evenings and weekends to meet the demands of the job with compensatory time off.
* It is preferred that the post holder will hold a full driving licence and have a car available and be insured for work. Living Paintings reimburses all business mileage and travel expenses.
