Ready to make a difference in healthcare, working directly with our executive team to deliver innovative services?
Southampton Primary Care Ltd (SPCL) is here to deliver better healthcare for local people. We run GP-led services across the city — from extended access clinics in our hubs, to support for care homes and home visits for patients who need them most.
We are looking for a Business Support Officer to join our team — someone who is ambitious, curious, and ready to learn. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to develop strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills in a fast-moving healthcare environment.
Why join us?
* Make a real impact – your work will directly support services that improve patient care across Southampton.
* Develop your career – you'll gain experience in project management, service improvement, and leadership, with mentoring and support from senior managers.
* Variety every day – you'll be working across different teams, services, and projects — no two weeks will look the same.
* Grow your skills – from business analysis and communications to people management and digital solutions, this role is a springboard for a career in healthcare management, consulting, or leadership.
What you'll be doing:
* Supporting the executive team to deliver innovative, high-quality services.
* Analysing data and turning it into practical recommendations for change.
* Communicating clearly with staff, partners, and stakeholders.
* Supporting teams to improve how they work, solve problems, and deliver for patients.
* Developing your leadership and management skills with hands-on experience.
What we're looking for:
* Great communication skills – confident writing reports, presenting ideas, and working with others.
* An analytical mindset with strong numeracy skills – able to spot patterns in data and think critically.
* A positive, proactive approach – willing to take ownership and see things through.
* Interest in healthcare, change management, or improving services.
* A degree (any discipline considered, but business, health, or management-related is a bonus).
What you'll get from us:
* Ongoing mentoring and personal development planning.
* Formal and informal training opportunities to grow your skills.
* The chance to work with a wide range of colleagues, from clinicians to senior leaders.
* Experience that will set you up for future roles in healthcare leadership, project management, or consulting.
