Yorkshire Rugby Academy is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Part Time Athletic Development Coach to lead the physical and athletic development of Yorkshire Rugby Academy’s Developmental players (U16, U17 & U18), in line with our Academy Physical Development Curriculum. The goal is to develop physically capable athletes who can perform at England Rugby Age Grade (U17-U20) level and progress into Premiership Rugby and senior international teams.
This role will work closely with an interdisciplinary team including Coaching, Medical, Analysis, and Operational staff, providing an integrated approach to player development.
Accountabilities:
* Deliver athletic development content to U16-U18 players, in line with the Academy’s curriculum.
* Assist gym sessions and pitch-based warm-ups for U18 squads.
* Lead gym sessions and pitch-based warm-ups for U17 & U16 squads.
* Lead physical preparation at U17 Academy fixtures, including pre-match, intra-match and post-match duties.
* Support physical testing events.
* Contribute to on-field delivery when required by the coaching team.
* Undertake additional duties as directed by the Head of Athletic Development.

Qualifications, skills & experience:
* Previous experience coaching youth athletes in a development setting.
* Ability to plan and deliver strength & conditioning programmes that make a tangible performance impact.
* Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
* Good understanding of periodisation and physical development principles for youth athletes.
* Flexibility to attend evening training and weekend fixtures (regional and national travel expected).
* To hold a full UK driving license
* To be IT literate is essential
* Commitment to ongoing professional development.
* Degree (or equivalent) in Strength & Conditioning or Sport & Exercise Science.
* Experience using GPS, timing gates, force plates, and conducting physical testing.
* Awareness of Safeguarding protocols and working with young people.
