Apprenticeship Overview
An opportunity to undertake a Level 4 apprenticeship in Project Management. Upon completion you will be recognised as an Associate Project Manager and qualify for the Association for Project Management’s Associate Membership.
As an apprentice you will work within a supported learning environment, receive on‑the‑job training and have time to complete your learning. You will work directly with our project teams – Project Support Officers, Project Managers and Project Executives – and be involved in a wide variety of project management activities that keep your days varied and interesting.
You will contribute to the national Flood Risk Programme by delivering flood alleviation projects and various operational projects. All apprentices are required to undertake training and participate in incident response duties when needed.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with project teams to deliver flood alleviation and operational projects.
* Assist in project planning, scheduling, cost control and risk management.
* Support the collection, analysis and management of project data and information.
* Participate in incident response activities as required.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date project records.
Qualifications & Skills
* Great organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing demands.
* Enthusiastic self‑starter who enjoys working as part of a team.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
* Valid UK driving licence.
* Energy, enthusiasm and passion for the environment and a career in project management.
* Previously defined experience is not essential; apprenticeship eligibility criteria must be met.
Eligibility & Additional Information
* Apprenticeship eligibility requirements are detailed in the Additional Information pack.
* Applicants must be 18 or older.
* This role does not provide sponsorship; please consult UKVI for right to work options.
* Fixed‑term contract of up to 23 months that transitions to a permanent role upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
* Interviews expected in May 2026 at Richard Fairclough House, Warrington.
