Role Overview:
KPMG UK is seeking a Lead GenAI Engineer to join our Data & AI team, specializing in generative AI model development, AI transformation, and large-scale enterprise AI implementations. You will lead impactful AI initiatives, drive innovation, and tackle complex business challenges. As a thought leader, you’ll guide cross-functional teams, define AI strategies, and deliver innovative solutions that generate tangible outcomes for KPMG and our clients. The role also offers significant opportunities to influence how AI shapes KPMG’s operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead AI Transformations: Drive large-scale generative AI projects across the organization and client base, ensuring seamless adoption and addressing critical business challenges. Provide AI thought leadership, advise on strategy, and integrate generative AI into business processes to create value.
2. Technical Leadership and Collaboration: Lead AI engineers and data scientists, mentoring junior staff and ensuring best practices. Collaborate to design scalable AI systems, create Proof of Concept, deliver MVPs, and deploy models into production.
3. Business Development & Practice Building: Work with business teams and clients to showcase AI potential, conduct feasibility studies, develop data strategies, support RFP responses, and demo solutions.
4. Ethical and Secure AI Deployment: Ensure compliance with data governance and industry regulations. Implement best practices in data privacy, security, and ethical AI, especially with sensitive data. Contribute to KPMG’s knowledge base on fair and transparent AI models.
5. Research & Innovation: Stay updated on AI advancements, apply new methodologies, research new use cases, publish findings, and present insights at industry conferences.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Educational Background: A degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory if you have significant professional experience. Advanced certifications in AI/ML, cloud computing, or data engineering are advantageous.

* Work Experience: Proven experience in AI/ML, developing and deploying generative AI solutions at scale. Familiarity with LLMs like GPT and BERT, AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), cloud solutions, and tools like Databricks and Snowflake. Experience managing stakeholders in complex environments.
* Skills: Expertise in designing, coding, and optimizing generative AI models, prompt engineering, understanding AI algorithms, and deploying solutions in cloud environments. Proficiency with Git, Linux, Docker, Hadoop, Spark, Elasticsearch. Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills. Business development experience is a plus.
