?? Location: Reading | ?? Start Date: September | ? Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM Are you passionate about supporting autistic children and young people to reach their full potential? We’re looking for a Special Needs Classroom Assistant to join an all-through autism specialist school in Reading this September. ?? About the School The school is a vibrant, inclusive and nurturing community for autistic students aged 4–19. The Role As a Classroom Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapists to support students' learning, communication, emotional regulation and social development. You’ll be a trusted adult who helps create a calm, safe and inspiring learning environment tailored to each individual. ?? Responsibilities: • Providing in-class and one-to-one support for students with autism. • Supporting pupils with communication, academic tasks and emotional regulation. • Delivering personal care when required with dignity and sensitivity. • Collaborating with teaching staff, therapists and families to ensure consistent support. • Helping to create and maintain a positive, respectful and enabling classroom environment. ?? We’re Looking For Someone Who: • Has experience supporting autistic individuals (in a school, home or care setting). • Is confident, empathetic, flexible and able to adapt to the needs of each student. • Can remain calm and consistent, even in challenging situations. • Is happy to support with personal care when needed. • Is a strong team player and willing to learn. • Psychology graduates are especially encouraged to apply—this is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience for further study or a future career in SEND, education or therapy. ??
