Starrycare is seeking dedicated and reliable Domestic Staff / Housekeepers to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and comfort across our client sites. The role is essential in creating a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for residents, service users, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
* Clean and maintain rooms, communal areas, kitchens, and bathrooms to a high standard
* Follow cleaning schedules and infection control procedures
* Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and correctly
* Dispose of waste in line with health and safety guidelines
* Report maintenance issues, hazards, or damages promptly
* Replenish cleaning supplies and linen as required
* Support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing, and folding
* Maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity of residents and service users
Qualifications
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills
* Understanding of cleaning, hygiene, and infection control standards
* Right to work in the UK
* Willingness to undergo background checks (DBS) if required
Requirements
* Previous experience in domestic, housekeeping, or cleaning roles is an advantage but not essential
* NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Cleaning, Health & Social Care, or a related field
* Experience working in care homes, hospitals, hotels, or supported living environments
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong attention to detail
* Good time management and organisational skills
* Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
* Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and evenings if required
