Salary:
Unqualified: Base salary of £29,112.72 to £30,008.16 upon successful completion of the probation period.
Qualified: Base salary of £30,641.52 (for those with a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent).
Specific Hours: 08:00 AM - 08:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
Location: Greater London (Covering Camden, Haringey & Islington)

As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in the welfare of our young people. You will not only keep them safe but also contribute significantly to their care, learning, and development. You’ll be a key figure in bridging the gap between Area Camden and the local community, promoting social inclusion and helping young people with emotional and behavioral challenges reach their full potential.
Main Responsibilities
* Collaborate with your team to create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes positive development for the young people in our care.
* Provide emotional and social support, helping young people build meaningful relationships and engage with their local communities.
* Encourage self-esteem and ensure each young person feels respected and valued.
* Support young people in making positive life choices and achieving independence.
* Maintain high standards of record-keeping, documenting daily and monthly progress, and ensuring child protection records are up to date.
* Assess the needs of children and young people, formulating and reviewing care plans under the guidance of your manager.
* Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including health advisors, social workers, and therapists, and engage with families when necessary.
* Assist young people with daily living needs in line with their individual care plans.
* Carry out domestic duties, involving young people in meal planning, shopping, and preparation to ensure a balanced diet.
Required Attributes
* Ability to engage positively and proactively with young people.
* Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
* Sensitive and reflective, with strong listening and empathy skills.
* Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
* Experience in the care sector or residential care is preferred.
* Hold a relevant qualification or be committed to pursuing a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
* Willingness to work some Bank Holidays.

* Weekly rotating schedule: 08:00 AM - 08:00 PM (1 week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday = 36 hours; 2 week: Monday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday = 48 hours).

* Waking Night contracts available.
* 236 hours of annual leave (including bank holidays), with an increase of 12 extra hours for every year of service (capped at 272 hours).
