We are seeking an enthusiastic nurse to join the Alcohol Care Team, delivering a 7‑day specialist liaison service across the hospital. The role involves supporting patients with alcohol‑related conditions, advocating for their needs, and providing education to staff.
Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
* Provide specialist advice and evidence‑based interventions for patients with alcohol‑related conditions.
* Support patients in accessing community services and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
* Advocate for patients, ensuring their voices are central to care planning and decision‑making.
* Facilitate education and training for healthcare professionals on alcohol identification, screening, brief interventions, and reducing stigma.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of the service within the Alcohol Care Team Innovation and Optimisation Network (ACTION).
Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience
* Essential criteria:
* Registered nurse on the relevant part of the NMC register.
* Degree qualification, 120 credits at level 6 or equivalent evidence of specialist training, experience or portfolio.
* Completion of all Band 5 (preceptorship) competencies.
* Higher Education Institute approved course in supporting learners in practice or equivalent experience demonstrating support to a range of learners and colleagues.
* Extensive post‑registration experience within a specialist area.
* Knowledge of current issues within the acute health service.
* Understanding of personal accountability.
* Desirable criteria:
* Counselling qualification.
* Registered on MSc Pathway – completion of HTPA competencies.
* Palliative care course.
* IT training.
* Knowledge of change management, clinical practice development.
* Experience in multidisciplinary team working.
* Post‑registration qualification within area of speciality.
