Job Description
The payroll assistant will be responsible for:
3. Perform daily payroll department operations
4. Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
5. Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
6. Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
7. Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
8. Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
9. Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary
10. Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
The Successful Applicant
A successful Payroll Assistant should have:
11. Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
12. Working knowledge of payroll best practices
13. Strong knowledge of taxation and garnishment laws
14. Experience with large payroll processing
15. Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
16. Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication
17. Strong organisational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
