A Commis Chef assists our section chefs, also known as a Chef de Parties. The role is made up of many varying responsibilities including:
* Assisting in the food preparation process
* Cooking and preparing elements of high quality dishes
* Preparing vegetables, meats and fish
* Assisting other Chefs
* Helping with deliveries and restocking
* Assisting with stock rotation & Cleaning stations
* Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards.
Main Tasks:
These skills include understanding the business operations inside a restaurant, having an ability to motivate and create relationships with kitchen staff and possessing a level of creativity to create recipes from scratch.
1. Preparation of all food on your section
2. · Ensure all food is prepared as per food hygiene safety preparation requirements
3. · Ensure all products are produced on time, and sufficient quantities are available for the various areas/services
4. · Maintain stock levels of all kitchen supplies
5. · Prepare daily item requirements as per the menu
6. Work with Management/Mentors
7. · Learn new skills required to perform your role to the required standard
8. Assist Management with deliveries, stock taking and order proposing
9. Manage kitchen stock
10. · Ensure wastage is minimised by careful supervision of food preparation methods
11. · Ensure proper hygienic storage methods are utilised to prevent food loss
12. · Ensure the security of all stock
13. · Oversee the ordering and control of stock levels for your section, commuciate with line managers for ordering
14. Assist the Head Chef as required
15. · Work alongside all staff at JÖRO in a friendly manner.
16. · Menu Development, testing and implementation
17. · Pay careful attention to the operating budgets of the business to ensure that costs are controlled to maintain the correct levels of spending on food, consumables & wages.
18. Working on events and private dining, preparation, service, guest interaction and cleandown.
Skills and Abilities Required
* Basic knowledge of all sections

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
