CNC Programmer & Operator
South Manchester
£30,000 to £40,000 (DOE)
Role Overview
Were seeking an experienced CNC Programmer & Operator to support the continued growth of our production team. Youll bring hands-on expertise in CNC operation and programming, ideally from a joinery, set-building, or manufacturing background. A keen eye for detail, ability to meet tight deadlines, and a collaborative mindset are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Program and operate CNC routers for scenic, staging, and bespoke components
Generate precise toolpaths from CAD drawings
Perform routine maintenance and machine setup
Prepare, handle, and finish machined components
Integrate CNC parts into larger builds
Maintain tooling, equipment, and workshop areas
Conduct quality control to uphold high standards
Assist with stock management and material storage
Collaborate across departments to meet project needs
Follow all health & safety procedures
Support other departments as needed
Ideal Background:
Proven CNC programming and operating experience (3-axis routers preferred)
Proficient in CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360, VCarve)
CAD experience (AutoCAD or Vectorworks) a plus
Knowledge of materials: plywood, MDF, plastics, composites
High attention to detail and quality finish
Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
Full UK driving licence and own transport desirable
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 08:30 17:30
Holidays
28 days annually
Extra day off on/around birthday after 3 years service
