Join Our Team as an IT Technician.
Cranbrook School, nestled in the heart of the glorious Wealden countryside, is a co-educational grammar school with a rich history dating back to 1518. As one of the few state boarding schools in the UK, we pride ourselves on offering a unique educational experience. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Technician to enhance our support team.
In this key role, you will be responsible for responding to support tickets and providing initial troubleshooting and assistance for a variety of hardware, software, and network issues. Your expertise will help diagnose and resolve common technical problems, including Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft 365, basic network connectivity, and VPN access.
Your responsibilities will include documenting incidents and solutions, as well as escalating complex issues as needed. Proactive support will be a significant aspect of your role, where routine system checks and alerts will ensure that client systems operate at optimal performance. You will also assist in setting up new users as well as hardware and software installations.
To succeed in this position, you should possess a strong understanding of network maintenance and server administration. Experience in installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a wide range of IT equipment, including network infrastructures, computers, and mobile devices, is essential. Your ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels, as well as pupils, will be crucial.
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of one year of experience in ICT Support within a business or educational environment, alongside at least one year of customer service experience. A sound understanding of school or education IT networks will be highly beneficial.
This position is based in Cranbrook, and we offer a competitive benefits package including 22 days of annual leave which must be taken during school holidays, contractual sick pay that increases with years of service, and the opportunity to join the Kent County Council Local Government Pension Scheme. Further conditions of service will be detailed in the contract of employment.
