Job Summary
We are looking to appoint motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Nurses with experience or newly qualified to join the team at 6WB neonatal unit. Experience not essential as full support and training will be provided for newly qualified nurses who are able to demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfil this role.
We currently have vacancy at the Royal Free site which is a level 1 unit with 12 Special Care and 2 HDU costs, with a friendly, motivated, and dynamic teams that promote Family Integrated Care. We work very closely with Barnet Hospital which is our sister hospital. Barnet neonatal unit is a level 2 with 30 cots including Intensive care and High dependency cots. You will have the opportunity to rotate between the two units as a means of developing your skills.
Main duties of the job
The Main Duties Of This Role Are:
Deliver direct patient care to babies requiring Special Care needs.
Dealing with emergencies as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Clear communication with parents and colleagues.
Help and support parents, keeping them updated about their babies.
Teach and support students and new staff.
Escalate concerns appropriately.
Take part in quality improvement projects on the unit.
Complete timely discharge planning for babies on the unit
